NeuroAU is a global platform dedicated to advancing science-informed design by translating insights from neuroscience and cognitive science into meaningful applications for architecture, design, and urbanism. Through education, consultancy, and research, we empower professionals to create environments that support cognitive health, well-being, and human flourishing. Bridging academic knowledge and design practice, NeuroAU fosters a growing international community committed to shaping spaces that are not only functional, but deeply attuned to how we think, feel, and live.

SERVICES
Consultancy
We don’t just design spaces, we help you design experiences informed by science, shaped by evidence, and tailored to the real needs of those who experience these environments. Every choice we make is rooted in research, ensuring that environments not only look good, but actively promote well-being, cognitive resilience, and emotional connection.
Our approach delivers measurable value by aligning design with human-centered outcomes, creating spaces that truly support the people who live, work, and thrive within them.

Our consultancy uses NeuroArchitecture and Evidence-Based Design to analyze, diagnose and develop guidelines for various types of architecture, interior and urban planning projects.
Every project is unique. So is every person who uses it. That’s why we analyze, diagnose, and craft science-informed guidelines that go beyond aesthetics. We adapt cutting-edge research to the reality of your project, shaping spaces that don’t just work, but truly nurture those who inhabit them.

Mentoring
Our career mentoring in NeuroArchitecture was created for professionals who feel called to go beyond conventional design and want to make a real difference in how spaces impact lives.

In our one-on-one online sessions, we explore your goals, your path, and your potential. Each hour is thoughtfully crafted to offer not just direction, but inspiration, helping you navigate this interdisciplinary field with confidence, clarity, and purpose.
Your career isn’t just about where you work. It’s about how you change the world through the spaces you help create.
Lectures, workshops & inCompany training
Knowledge that transforms spaces and the people who design them.
We offer dynamic lectures and immersive workshops that guide you into a field where science and design meet to change lives. Each experience is tailor-made to meet the real needs of companies and professionals who want to go beyond the surface and explore how design truly impacts the brain, behavior, and well-being.

Our hands-on workshops aren’t just about learning, they’re about doing, feeling, and applying. Participants are guided through both theory and practice, gaining tools to bring neuroscience into the heart of real-world projects.

The future of design is human-centered and it starts with putting human needs at the center of every design decision.

SELECTED WORKS
StairWELL | Singapure | Research
This collaborative project between DP Architects, Nanyang Technological University, and NeuroAU, funded by the Design Singapore Council, explores how design can encourage healthier behaviors, focusing on staircase use as a catalyst for physical activity. Addressing the global rise in sedentary lifestyles, the study investigated how multisensory design interventions could promote more frequent use of stairs instead of elevators. Conducted in a corporate building in Singapore, the research tested 15 design interventions, including visual, auditory, and olfactory stimuli, over a 34-week period. The results showed that all interventions increased staircase use, with the most significant impact observed in the presence of natural plants. The study highlights the importance of not only functional design but also the appearance and sensory experiences of spaces in promoting more active lifestyles. It underscores the potential of NeuroArchitecture to inform strategies that support well-being and inspire lasting behavioral changes. Learn more.

Uncommon Café in Amsterdam redefines the café experience by blending thoughtful design with a philosophy of connection and well-being. Conceived by Instil Collective, the café draws inspiration from the concept of "The Living Network of Roots," a metaphor for resilience and interconnectedness that reflects both nature's ecosystems and human relationships. Every design element embodies this vision: fractal patterns evoke natural harmony, quartzite surfaces provide a connection to the earth, and hemp-infused plaster on the pillars links visitors to organic, tactile textures. The central bar, crowned by a curved ceiling with filtered light, symbolizes the balance between earth and sky. In collaboration with Andréa de Paiva, Instil incorporated principles of neuroarchitecture to create a welcoming sensory environment that fosters mindfulness. The space invites patrons to connect not only with nature and their surroundings but also with the stories behind the coffee. This café is more than a destination; it is a sensory journey exploring the interconnectedness of people, places, and the natural world. (photos by @Nicholas_Wilkins)
